In the days leading up to the Holiday’s there are many things that you may have to prepare for. One of the main challenges can be what’s on the menu for “THE BIG MEAL”? And how do you manage it while still enjoying the festivities. Is salad a side? Today it is! This Christmas salad is a perfect dish to serve this year – it can be made completely ahead of time! This festive salad has plenty of flavors from sweet to hearty, and savory to refreshing and fruity. We added in our sweet bell peppers for extra color, but kept the dressing separate and leave chopping cucumbers to add to the salad for the day of. (Cucumbers are mostly water so when exposed to air once cut they dissolve quickly and aren’t well suited to be prepped ahead of time.)
Stuffing! It is not a big meal without stuffing. Mom’s classic make-ahead bread stuffing is the perfect addition to your meal. You can stick to the recipe or add things like sweet bell peppers, apples, bacon, sausage, mushrooms or any flavors and spices you like to make it your own. Make this ahead of time and let the flavors marinate.
